Speed Talking: Language Exchange Night

Are you an expat who want to practise your Portuguese? Or are you a local looking to improve your English and meet fun, like-minded people? Join us for Speed Talking, in collaboration with Algarve Talks.
We’ve teamed up with Algarve Talks to bring you Speed Talking – a fast-paced, friendly way to practise languages and connect with others. We’ve borrowed the speed dating format, but swapped out romance for real-world conversation. You’ll chat one-on-one with different people for a few minutes at a time. The first half of the evening will be in Portuguese, the second half in English.
Step over that threshold and test your limits – all levels are welcome, especially beginners.
We know it’s hard to start speaking a new language, but here you’ll find a relaxed, friendly space where it’s okay to stumble, laugh, and learn. Most of all, it’s going to be fun! And perhaps you will find a new language friend to keep practicing with?
All you need to know
This is how it works..
When signing up for the event, you’ll fill in a quick form about what you want to practise and your language level – all levels are welcome, especially beginners!
• You’ll chat one-on-one with different people throughout the evening, switching partners every 4 minutes.
• The first half of the night will be in Portuguese, the second half in English. We’ll provide conversation starters and support on-site to keep things flowing.
